Or are they? You will make the final decision in your own mind. This production is performed with mask, dance, a variety of puppetry styles, and fabric manipulation and original music.

Ananse and the Sky God
(PA Location)

This
classic Southwestern African folk tale is told with a bit of a twist.
Ananse's wife, Aso, tells the story of how the Trickster Spider, Ananse,
won the right to tell the Great Sky God's stories. The set, mask,
and puppet designs are based on flavors of traditional arts from the Ivory
Coast and other Southwestern African countries that share the Ananse stories.
An original score has been written, and each character has their own music;
in a similar fashion to Peter and the Wolf. This story is told
with Masks, Rod Puppets, and Shadow work. Age appropriate for 5 through adults.
